Boston Storm FC Founder and Technical Director Dennis Lukens:
Coach Lukens has developed the entire curriculum for Boston Storm FC. He will oversee the implentation of the program and provide direct supervision of the entire club, players and coaches.
Dennis Lukens is one of the most experienced and successful coaches in the country. Coach Lukens previously served as Director of Coaching for the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association. His responsibilities as DOC for the MYSA included serving as Director of the ODP program as well as Director of Coach Education. He served as MYSA U-15 ½ State Team Head Coach and on the USYSA Region I Staff. Coach Lukens was also part of the United States Soccer Federation National Instructional Staff.
Dennis Lukens is one of a handful of Americans that holds a UEFA (United European Football Association) and United States Soccer Federation “A” License. He is enrolled and studying for his UEFA Pro License held by one other American and considered the highest coaching license in the world.
In 2012, he became the first and only America to be a Head Coach of a professional Soccer Team in the former Soviet Union with FC Krystal Kherson. He took over the club as Technical Director and Head Coach when they were mired in 14th place of the Ukraine 2nd Division having gone 0-8-1 to start the season. He led them to 7th position in the league in just 6 weeks going 7-6-2 including a friendly win of Ukraine Premier League side FC Odessa Chernomorets. Coach Lukens is one of only six Americas in the history of American Soccer to be a Head Coach in European professional soccer. Prior to coaching FC Krystal Kherson he was part of the staff of Ukraine Premier League side FC Sevastopol.
In 2008, he became only the 2nd American to serve as coach of a National Team of another country taking the position of U-23 National Team Head Coach for Saint Lucia. Mr. Lukens prepared and led Saint Lucia into the 2008 CONCACAF Olympic Qualification Tournament.
As Head Coach of Bridgewater State University, Coach Lukens went 46-23-6 after taking over a program that had compiled a losing record in the 10 years before he arrived. His teams set 16 school records and took the to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the school’s history.
As U-15 ½ Coach for the MYSA ODP State Team, his team lost only two games over 2 years including competitions during the Region I ID Weekend.
As Head Trainer for the Mass Machine U-12 Girls Team he did all preparations and training for them as they won the North American Indoor Championship in 1996.
Coach Lukens lives with his wife and son in Weston, MA having returned to Massachusetts after 8 years living and coaching abroad.
